INTIMACY OF DEATH

Death. Can we approach this subject simply? Are we as free to talk about it as we are about all the other life transitions we go through? How do we choose to die? This project is intended to make you think about your own death and those of the people around you.

II. THE CROSSING OVER

A crossing over for those who have died, but also for those who remain.

As the physical body decomposes and returns to the earth, the infinitesimal parts of our being revert into elements. Being immersed in water, burning and becoming ashes, evaporating into the ether, dissolving, disappearing.

The stage of mourning, for the living, is just as meaningful a crossing over: the desire to curl up or to flee, the feeling of absence and loneliness, the waiting for the time to pass.
